Do You Have Control Over Your Health

Honestly sit and think about this question. Do you feel that you are able to exert some control over your bodies ability to function and be healthy? From this point today and the rest of your life, and I don't know how long that is going to be, do you want to live your best life? Do you want to be healthy into your 80's and 90's?

Chronic Illness kills 8 out o 10 people in the United States of America. The main question we need to ask ourselves as a society is why such a high rate of chronic illness and sickness. So what do you believe? Do you believe that people become sick and chronically ill because they have some inherent defect or internal problem.

If so, then you believe that there is nothing that you can do to prevent illness from occurring. So the solution with that perspective is not about how to get you well, instead it is about how to alleviate your symptoms throughout your lifetime. If you believe that the environment and choices that you make on a regular basis effect the outcome of your health then your solution lies with making changes to your choices.

Numerous studies over the past decade have shown a direct link to life style choices and increased rates of chronic illness. So basically the negative choices you make on a daily basis are slowly killing you. This is suicide by lifestyle. I have always been a firm believer that the body is made to heal itself and can do so when it has all of the components needed.

As a doctor, I am concerned with your well-being. I am concerned about your physiology and how well your body is functioning on a regular basis. I am concerned about the lifestyle choices you are making on a daily basis and if they are effecting you in a positive or negative direction.

I am not interested in you as a symptom or diagnosis. While that is important to me, my primary goal is not just to alleviate. It is to find the root cause of your problem and make sure your body functions as close to 100% for you for the rest of your life.

Basing your health on the presence or absence o symptoms is a dangerous way to evaluate your health. There are indicators and tests that allow you to determine how well your body as a whole entity is functioning.

Its about balance, homeostasis. The body looks for balance and will do whatever is necessary to achieve that state. Blood tests evaluate organs and systems, blood pressure determines how effectively blood is flowing through your body, structural and functional assessments of your spine and nervous system evaluate arthritic changes and look for breakdowns to flow of communication, pH analysis determines your levels of alkalinity or acidity.

The earlier you detect an imbalance, the easier it is to adapt and correct it. The longer you wait to detect an imbalance, especially once symptoms appear, the harder it is to bring the body back to a level of homeostasis.

Every choice that you make on a daily basis is either bringing you toward a state of health and wellness or toward a state of sickness and disease.

Remember that and make better choices! Don't become a part of the statistics. Realize that you do have an impact on how you heal and how you function. How healthy do you choose to be?
